Having followed the crypto space for over a decade now, I have a lot of people approach me about learning more...especially during the bull run of the standard four-year cycles.
It's often hard to point them in one direction for a resource to 'catch up'...until now.
This book is outstanding. Not only does it avoid all the hype and scams that crypto is known for, but it actively shows you ways to avoid this nonsense and also how to self custody to keep your coins safe. The book is written in a very informative yet friendly way, and takes an investor approach to crypto, not that of a gambler. This fact alone makes the book stand out from many others.
Not only does it get the reader up to speed, but it also addresses current developments in the space such as CBDCs and DePIN. As a side note, at the time of this review I'm seeing more mining operations switch from mining coins to leasing their servers for Ai compute, which is something to keep an eye on. As the public narrative sways from crypto right now, institutions and investors acquire coin in silence. The public is often late, coming in after prices have run up, and they wind up turning into exit liquidity. Pretty wild to think when you look at the average returns of BTC for example. In the day and age of instant everything / food delivered to your door in seconds / etc, it's crazy to see how people would rather gamble with their money than go for what have historically been astronomical returns from ETH or BTC. Apparently doubling your money is considered 'too conservative' these days.
With this book and the investor first, smart approach they take to crypto, that won't be the readers who invest in this high-quality educational resource. Not only that, this book is mostly about education, blockchain, and in the beginning even talks about how salt was a currency of exchange hundreds of years ago. The question becomes, after salt, then gold, then money, and all the other things that were used in-between, will BTC eventually become the reserve currency of the future?
And if so, how much will you need to make sure you make it? This book will set you on the right path, provide the quality education you need, and build a solid foundation as you enter the space, or get caught up. Great read / resource!

Chess Made Simple
I’ve had friends try to teach me chess a few times and for some reason it just never stuck so when I came across this book I wasn’t sure what to expect. But the way it is explained here and clear a simple way for me made everything click. I’m not a chess champion yet but I feel a lot more comfortable than before is started this book.
